Registration is now open for the Forsyth County Schools job fair that will take place later this month.
The fair, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 25 at South Forsyth High School, requires educators to pre-register this year, a change from last year, said Jennifer Caracciolo, a spokeswoman for FCS.
The fair is also only open to certified educators or those who will be eligible for teaching certification for the 2017-18 school year.
Last year, about 1,000 people attended the fair, with about 40 percent hired.
“We hired approximately 400 new educators as new staff and replacement for resignations and retirements, and we’re projecting we’ll hire around the same number of staff members this year,” Caracciolo said.
Areas of need for the school system are in special needs departments.
Applicants should bring a one-page resume to the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to noon.
