SOUTH FORSYTH – A crash involving a tractor trailer and passenger car in south Forsyth left one person critically injured late afternoon Wednesday.

The driver of the car was transported to North Fulton Hospital with life threatening injuries after reportedly colliding head-on with the 18-wheeler on James Burgess Road, north of the intersection of Nichols Drive, according to Deputy Doug Rainwater, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office Traffic Specialist Unit was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the wreck.

“Usually now with serious injuries, we call out our traffic specialist unit where there’s a possibility where someone could die,” Rainwater said.
Further details on the injured driver, including age, gender and county of residence, were not immediately available.

Rainwater said the truck driver was not injured.
