ROME - Margaret Metz had 27 points as Pinecrest Academy girls basketball advanced in the Region 6-1A Tournament with a 59-50 victory Wednesday at Darlington School.

Regina Metz added 21 points for the Lady Paladins, who led by as much as 45-32 after the third quarter before seeing its lead shrink.

Pinecrest will face Darlington, a 58-29 winner against Mount Pisgah, in the region semifinals Friday at 4:30 p.m.
