Bryar Hawkins, an infielder and senior for West Forsyth, committed to Clemson University on Wednesday, making him the fourth player in the county slated to play collegiately in Division I (Ethan Hankins, Central, Vanderbilt; Mitchell Gross, Central, Georgia; Zach Keenan, Lambert, Charleston).

Hawkins, who was named to the FCN’s all-county second team as a junior, held a .366 batting average with 14 RBI, nine doubles and two home runs at the end of last spring.

Hawkins will join former Lambert star Seth Beer, who won the Dick Howser Trophy—given to the best college baseball player in America—among a myriad of awards in his freshman season.
