West Forsyth girls soccer players Carsen Parker and Brooke Pirkle signed their letter of intents on Wednesday.

Both signed with the Arkansas Razorbacks where they will play this up and coming fall. Parker and Pirkle were two of several Forsyth County student-athletes who signed today.

Last season, Parker and Pirkle were part of the of a West team that made a state championship appearance where they fell one goal short of Lassiter.

Along with Arkansas both girls were also recruited by Florida State and Troy.

Parker last season led West with 10 goals last season and was named our 2015-16 Forsyth County News’ Girls Soccer Player of the Year. Not only did she dominate for West she was also a part of the U.S. Youth Soccer state championship team in 2016 UFA.

Carsen committed to Arkansas her sophomore year following a campus visit with fellow Wolverine Brooke Pirkle.

“I wasn’t expecting to make my decision that early, but when we [Parker and Pirkle] visited we absolutely fell in love with it,” Parker said. “We just loved everything; there wasn’t a bad part to it.”

“When I visited Arkansas I just knew . . . it’s just absolutely amazing,” Pirkle said, “the coaches are great, the players are great, the academics are great – it’s just overall a fantastic school.”

Along with Carsen, Brooke also was on the UFA team that won the state title in 2016. But she also played on the Atlanta Silverbacks women’s semi-professional team in 2015-16. The accolades also came while she has been a Wolverine as she has been named to All-Region and All-County teams in all three years she has been in high school.

Both of them can’t wait to start their next chapter together.

“We’re really close off the field, it’s going to feel like having a sister there” Pirkle said.

 “I know it’s going to hard being away from home but I also know being with her will make that easier,” Carsen said.

As both girls are excited to play college ball together there is still one thing they have on their minds before they leave: a state title.
